Thanks everyone for the input on my FJ45 conversion to a 350 and auto transmission. Finally things are becoming somewhat clear.
I have searched this group and many others in regards to a front disk brake conversion for this 1965 truck and have not yet found anything solid yet. I've read all about using a Toyota mini-truck
front end, a later model FJ40 front end and modifying this stock front end. If I switch out front ends with the mini truck or FJ40, will that match up with my other stock parts? Glad to hear from those that have tried this already and have succeeded.
Thanks,
DH Mack

hey there newbie:flipoff2: !
what's with the 20 questions?!
try looking this stuff up by doing a search; not that i'm any good at it.

you should try to find a complete fj40 disc brake front axle or at least a fine spline axle (complete) with drums and then convert that to mini-truck outers. pretty easy to do.:D

I have 76s under my 65 FJ45. That is the easy way to go. You get fine spline axles, disc, and fine spline birfs in a bolt on package. If I find a well done SOA front axle complete at a reasonable price I will hook you up with my front. I have looked at the mini truck but I thought it was easier to just get the entire cruiser axle.

Orange45 is the man! he got me set up with the rear now I need the front.:D

I bought a set (front and rear) of these from him last year (from 79 FJ40) and I believe the prices shown are Canadian. The set I bought was $500 Canadian =$325 US. And they are landcruiser! You will have to figure out the dual master cylinder and adapter fittings, or convert to all new 10 mm fittings and tubing. (see ih8mud.com).
