Adding a CV question [Archive]

What I want to do is add a CV to my Excursion rear driveshaft. Since the slip joint is at the center diff can a CV be added to the slip joint end or do I have change the slip to the rear end side as the aftermarket DS manufactors do? I would like to keep the large rubber mounted steel ballance-vibration ring that the stock DS has..I think it will help
