Ok, couldnt get a reply in the newbie section so i'll try it here. I bought a Charr-Lynn steering valve from surplus center that is rated for 2-4gpm and it is 8.9 displacement, I have a 2.5" x 8" single ended ram, will I be able to operate it with a stock Saginaw pump from a 1972 Lincoln?
I am putting rockwells under a 78 F-250 and will be running 44 to 49 inch ag tires, im sure ill need some turning help. Any help will be appreciated, Dave

I have read that a couple times but im not sure what I need to measure on the cylinder or the how to get the flow rate and psi from the saginaw pumps that lincoln and Ford used.
I ordered that valve based on the output of the chevy pumps at about 2gpm so I figured the ford version couldnt be that much different. I'd really like to here from others that have done full hydro and what size valve they used.

I am using a 2" bore 8" inch stroke ram powered of a saginaw and love it. Also using the char lynn. The only thing you might run into with the 2.5" is slower turning speeds or more turns of the steering wheel.

Thanks, thats what i'm looking for, but do you know what charr lynn valve you are using since they come in a variety of displacements?
