while junkyard shopping, i came across something interesting
1976 (i think, maybe 78)
300 custom, regular cab
360, standard tranny
stake/dump body
duelie

here is the interesting part...
the rear axle: i *think* it says "70" on it, but the wheels had 6 big lugs, and the flange that holds the axleshafts in also had 6 11/16s nuts holding it on.

is this some freak axle or useful for anything?

Might be an axle from the Sweptline era (61-71).

Could also be from a Dodge A-class motorhome chassis

IH used a big pattern 6-lug in some applications also.

anybody else?
