: 231 V6-low hole stumper

I have a 231 that compressions out at 125# on 1,2,5,6. The #4 hole had 50# and #3 had 100#. I yanked the heads off, no noticable burned/bad valves. I pulled the #4 piston out and the rings are all free and fairly clean. The bore is stock (3.8") and there is less than .002" of ridge (barely feel it w/ a finger nail).
The other problem is that on the last trail run I was getting oil pumped out the dipstick tube and some smoke off the passengers side exhaust. This suggests to me some serious crankcase pressure from bad rings. The rings are thinner than the Chevy ones I'm used to dealing w/, so maybe they are actually worn out.  I haven't miked them to see what the end gap is, but it looks ok. I'm taking the heads in to be done anyway, so I'll see what the doc says on them.
Anyone have something like this w/ a 231?

I have no flippin idea how many miles on this engine either.
I need this thing back runnin, I just got new 38s on it and wanna go play.

Blown head gasket would be my guess

the head gaskets were new, and I didn't see any signs of leakage on the heads, block and gaskets. The other thing is there wasn't any oil in the antifreeze and no anti. in the oil. The 2 and 6 holes both had 125# too. I'm going to have the heads magnafluxed to see if it is cracked, but am running out of ideas. I'm re-ringing it, so hopefully that helps.
thanks for the input

unfortunately since you've got it apart, you're just going to have to keep making educated guesses....If you can put it back together and do a leak down test, that will tell you where your problem is... My guess would be that (if #3 & #4 are side by side, I don't know on that motor) its a blown gasket between the cylinders

ditto

if they are next to each other

make sure to check the heads or block is not warped too
