I bought some rubber bushings that go in between the new body mount and the tube/mount. BTW, the tube thing is not welded on yet.

This is the start of the new crossmember. I rough-cut out the fairlead hole. I'll fix that later. I'l also add a strap to the top and back side.

What powerplant are squeezing in there? I'm basically doing the same conversion to my 80, that's why I ask. Also what steering box is that? And for my last question are just goin to do without that front crossmember? I guess I'm just being curious here. I was thinking about fabbing up new body mounts on the inside of the wheel well, just the opposite side where the old front mount was. I dunno if that made any sense or not?

Look everyone..A NEWBIE:flipoff2: Welcome:D

Now back to business...It's a Chevy SB and I ran it with the original crossmember in there for years but with a Ford 2wd PS box. The new PS box (Happens to be a waggoner or YJ --Same thing) has a shorter sector shaft...much safer to run with my planned 37-38's. As for your body mounts, yes I know what you are talking about...the Mod here, Ben did his that way. I just wanted to keep my wheel wells clean so I opted to put them inside. And the winch will go behind the grill so that's why there is a cut out for the cable...

Now go and search the entire IH board..there's a wealth of Fab knowledge here....;)
