: sunday hillclimb pics
ok my official time was 15.645 and i got 40th outa 51
anyway, heres some pics i took today, i was more interested in figuring out how to fab up some swing arm extensions than the actual bikes so most of the pics are of that plus i forgot to check my batteries before i left so i had to keep moving them around and get as many as i could
i got 2 more pics i have, 1 of another bad ass bike and one of the stock hill i ran but since i used the zoom to take them, i cant get the file small enough, if i can email them to someone and you can resize them id appreciate it:) hope u guys like the pics, i had a blast:D
for the 2 missing pics go HERE (http://dkg.elmo-the-dog.com/cgi-bin/show.cgi?album!157) :D
Kyron 04-08-2002, 02:04 AM Those are KEWL :D almost as good as being there..

yeah someone does, he custom makes them for your bike Lefty Freuh in Lodi, CA. and those extensions are PLENTY strong, the bike in the first pic has a whole custom made 1 peice swing arm if you look close. otherwise they just use aluminum (i think) to cut down on the weight. i think i figured out how to make my own, thats why i took pics of those :D
Weasel 04-08-2002, 07:28 AM Where was that at?? You ever been up to Billings, MT for the grand national hillclimb (think that's the name)?
UZI 9mm 04-08-2002, 12:40 PM no intention of padding here, just couldn't stand to see that idiot's name everytime i opened the page up.:D
dog walker 04-08-2002, 01:01 PM No worries, I delete every post I see by him!

its at carnegie svra in livermore/tracy CA. ive never been to MT, isnt that where the "widowmaker" is? ive seen some crazy pics of that hill, car tires with big ass bolts through them.
there was one guy on a cr500 with a big swingarm and a SAND RAIL PADDLE:eek: shoulda got a pic now that i think about it, pretty funny lookin:D
UZI 9mm 04-08-2002, 01:37 PM i think my all time favourite hill climbing machine was the guy with the nitro burning Benelli SEI (Italian semi-clone of Honda's CBX six cylinder-late '70's/early '80's):D
ps- very cool pics, btw Brad:smokin:
GS 1000 motor?

That would be it. The baddest hill anywhere. 500 are small there too, alot of guys run 1800cc or as big as they can get.

ive never seen that bike, i have been searching the net for any pics of hillclimbers but have only come across 3 or 4 sites with good pics not just writing.
what about a gs1000 motor?
and weasel i know 500s are small on the widow maker :D i was just saying it was funny watching that guy with that fat back tire. i like brandon whitlocks yz based fj1100(i think) i know travis has a fj1200 thats badass too:smokin:
Kyron 04-08-2002, 10:47 PM OK  I thought Widowmaker was in Utah?
Kyron 04-08-2002, 10:48 PM Oh.. one more thing (pad?)
How about that bike with TWO CR500 motors in it?

i saw that in a mag, thats just plain weird i mean sure it wouldnt weigh as much as a 4 cylinder streetbike motor but the only benifit i see is it keeps momentum better and doesnt bog as easy the front one pulls and the back one pushes. i dunno id have to see it in person to fullly understand:D

you are probably too young. it was a late 70's early 80's kinda thing. the guy was the Canadian (if not world?) hill climbing champion for a while, i believe.

the very first picture you posted here. it's an air cooled Suzuki GS and i wondered if it was the 1000cc engine vs the 750 or the 1100. being the first picture i saw, i thought it was yours.oops:D
LOPPY 04-09-2002, 10:56 AM Sick pics dood. Me likes. I know those hills there well. Carnegie's big attraction in my book... the hillclimbs... Cant wait to rip the new Husky up that stuff. :D

:D i wish that fawkin thing was mine, i heard the guy talkin and i think he said it was a 1000, the guy he was talkin with had an 1100 and wanted to know the difference. and yeah im too young to remember the 70s and early 80s, i was born in 84 :D
carnegie rocks for hillclimbs, thats kinda about it, all the trails have become boring to me since ive been there soooo many times
