Shouldn't do anything to performance...its a emisions related piece that slows the throttle from closing when you get off the gas to help ensure a full burn.

All removing the dashpot will do is dramatically increase compression braking... It will let the throttle body snap closed when you chop the throttle. You will not gain any power.

Take it off and drive it around a little, I like the extra compression braking effect. If you don't like it put it back on.
