The bast kit, hands down, is the Trail Tough YJ stuff. I have seen al the kits on the market and while all the others preform well, I believe that this one is just the best. that being said, 500 bucks ain't gonna get you ANY of the YJ kits on the market.

I whole heartedly agree. After seeing both the Rocky Road kit and the Trail Tough kit side by side, installed, and seeing them both in action. I have to say, the trail tough kit is much better.

for your price range, i would run sky's kit front and rear. I have the rear kit on my samurai, it is very well done especially for the price.

Sky $200 for the front and $150 for the rear... We have not had any comlaints yet except the lack of instructions.

Agreed, I've run both and the Trail Tough kit is top notch. However, for the money you can't go wrong with the Sky kit as mentioned above. I purchased the front and rear kit off Ebay at a very good price.

ok some more questions and info,
first of all its not my samurai it is my brother in laws, however i will be doing most of the work as he is new to twisting wrenches and needs to be supervised
we were orginaly going to build the whole "kit" from scratch but then decided that we would not have time to do that if we are going to run the fj60 axles this year(i am currently puting a 6.2 desiel in my fj40 and my project has prority)
Is skys kit a shackle reversal? do we want to run a shackle reversal? this rig will never see the road again except maby to get from one trail to another, we trailer most every where.
because we are running crusier axles most of the kits have parts that do us no good, such as steering, axle mounts ext....
rocky road says that missing link shackles add nothing? i am running relvovers on my fj and love them (although it takes a bit to learn when they will open and when they will not)

Yet Rocky Road sells missing links....HMMMMM. I find it interesting that their wrangler kit was on Missing Links for the longest time until(from what I understand) they got into some trouble for copying brents kit...which magically, they got rid of the missing links and started calling them dangerous....yet, they still sell them on their suspension page. Why are they selling them still fi they are dangerous? another funny thing to note about that, is that they dont recommend them for wrangler springs because of onroad instablility, yet they are just fine with samurai springs? Thats a whole lotta bullshit if I ever heard it. Rocky Road has gotten into trouble for making bogus claims on their website, and they are just doing it again.
