Jeep guy(newbyFORD question) T350 auto tranny???

Sorry for the newby question:
What auto tranny can be fitted to the 7.3 V8 diesel 1988 ???

I live in Spain and we have a shortage of USA auto trannyes. Therefore any advise of what can be fitted to the Ford V8 diesel would be a great help.

Can we install a Cherokee AW4 with an adaptor???

WE had a GM 6.2 (adapted to a NISSAN 5 speed manual) BUT had two mayor engine failures for the extreme engine positions we force the trucks to be in. After the last one ,we have found the FORD V8 and will try some luck with it after the bad GM experience.

c-6 transmission with a diesel case unless you want to booty fab up some sort of adapter. ford is not really a universal bolt up pattern like a gm or jeep product. it is kinda of a run what ford gave you. try to locate a c-6 to make your life easier.
