Hi there,

I'm still running my BJ40, recently there comes a whining sound from the transfer/gearbox (4 gears) location at higher speeds and the setup started dripping. The whining sound goes after pressing in the clutch. Any ideas, suggestions, clutch bearing ? time for a gearbox/tranny rebuilt ?

sounds like your trans is ready for some new bearings!
if it was the transfer case the noise would be related to vehicle speed. if the noise only exists when the clutch is depressed it's probably the throw-out bearing, sometimes the pilot.:D
