number 6 piston explded on saturday. This is a Crate motor with 22K miles on it from Jeep. When the piston blew up, it left a pretty good gash in the cylinder wall. I need someone Sac area to check it out and tell me if I am fawked, or if it can be fixed. I am hoping to rebuild within 2 weeks for a run we have planned.......HELP!!!!! :(

How deep is the groove? Is it more than .030? You may need to sleeve the clyinder wall if it's too deep. I would tear it down, you many have others ready to go!

Old Scout, yeah, I am gonna start rippin it our this week. I think it is too deep :( But I got my fingers crossed. I need to borrow a picker from someone too. At this point, I just wanted some recomendations of a few decent shops to price check with.

Again Frodo, if you have nothing of value to add, then please stay out of these threads. You're nothing but an annoyance.

Yep, they rebuilt my Toyota head.

I also have used Bob Moore's Engine Rebuilding in Auburn. Kind of a weird dude but he does nice work. He is off Hwy 49 across from Bel Air. (I always forget that street name :flipoff2:)

Anybody here got the knowledge/tools to help me pull the motor apart and put it back together. I think I can get my block fixed for under 250 bucks, but thats taking them an empty block and putting back together myself.
