Looks like I need tires pretty quick here, but dont have the funds to spring for wheels at the same time. Wondering if any of you guys have run 315/75R16's on the stock Ford F350 alloy wheels. If so have you had any problems? I know it can be done, that they will fit, wondering how it would hold up. I plan to put 8-10" wheels on within a month or so, but the tires on there are so bad right now that I fear riding on them that long.
Any info would be great guys,
Doug

they work. they will rub on your leaf springs. and they will wear the edges off of the outside of the tires very slowly. I changed to 16x10 and its much better

little bro has them on his 250 his are Goodyear AT/S they came on the truck when he bought it and all 4 are seperating around the rim Which is a common occourance with tires on too narrow of a width.

I ran a set of 35" BFG AT's on my 2000 F350 4x4 CC Diesel for 50K. Still got the tires. they are actually in fairly good shape still.
All with no lift on the stock rims.
rubs on the springs and on the rear fenderwell. Self clearancing ;)

Yes - stock wheels - no lift - no rubbing - fender liner trimmed - steering stop modified to eliminate rubbing spring at full lock

My dad ran the 315's on the stock rims on his 99 F-250 untill they wore out. they rubbed on the springs when turned. His 285's now even rub on the springs, but that is a full turn.

I ran 315 mud terrains on he stock wheels when I first lifted my truck, it wore the tire kinda messed up, feathered em pretty good. I only got 23,000 out of them like that. Now running 315s on 16x10s, same tires, so far got around 30,000 on them and they are wearing very well, around half tread left. I wouldn't hesitate to run them on stock wheels again, just expect shorter tire life.

Thanks for the info guys. Just what I wanted to hear. Ill be running them for about a month like that, so not too concerned about the tread wear, then I'll jump up to the 16x10s
Thanks again guys

I run Big-O's XT's on my 96 with the stock steel wheels, I have 3" of lift and I barely rub on the front leafs but not bad. I did trim the bumper too.
