Hey, I just saw crock hunter on the animal planet. He was in eastern africa and was driving a sweet fj45 pickup/wagon. It was a double cab with a small pickup box and canvas cover. This thing was sweet! you guys should check it out.

i've seen that episode. he goes driving down a country road in what appears to be a bandeirante crew cab with a canvas lid for the bed. all of a sudden he stops the rig, jumps out and catches the fatest viper you've ever seen. that dude is NUTS!:rasta:

Why would it be IFS? No Land Cruiser prior to 1998 had IFS. If it was a double cab FJ45, then it was one of the common local (Africa) conversions based on an FJ45 troopie or pickup truck. There are several companies in South Africa and Kenya that convert pickup and troopie Land Cruisers (first the 45 series, then the 75 series, now the 79 series) into game-viewing vehicles and other similar configurations. Some are so well done that they look like factory models, but they are not.

Henry is correct. That African episode features a late model 45 pickup (or bakkie) locally converted to a 4 door configuration. Typical of that show: He drives a hokey old POS 45, instead of the much more available, more reliable 75 series. Just for the "image". And Orange: That wasn't a viper, that was a Black Mamba. The Black Mamba is an evil SOB snake. It is an aggressive hunter, and will attack humans instead of fleeing like most snakes. It grows to over 15 feet, and will rear to strike the head or chest of victims. It has been known to strike through a car windshield to bite someone, and is extremely fast and deadly. It uses a nerotoxin, and has a 100% death rate w/o antivenon. Just FYI.

the episode i saw, which was about 6 months ago, had him stop, look at a snake track across the road and a few feet further he found a viper that looked about 6 feet long and almost as big around as his leg.;)
