wuts the deal? mine are loose again, last time I just grabbed a tie rod off a spare axle. (my tie rod was bent to hell anyway)
I just came from Napa, I had em look up 94 yj, $4x for one side and $1xx for the other side!!? and then drag link TRE's?!

I didnt even know they were different L/R. then I had em check 87 yj. (thats what my axle is) different PART NUMBERS from the 95!? WTF?

I'm gonna go crank those fawkers down again cuz I cant $$ that.

If I'm gonna drop that kinda $ I want chevy TRE's!!

which ones do I get? how much$? does Gradys tie rod come w/ em?

I just got new tie rod ends for my CJ for $14.99 from 4wheel drive hardware. I guess YJ are a bit more expensive, another reason to stick with ROUND.

I am looking at the 4wd hardware catolog and depending on which you want, they get pricey, $16 for one side, and $50 for the steering knuckle to steering knuckle one. And they also have different part numbers for the 87-90 YJ and 91-95 YJ

Good Luck
Tony

4WheelParts or any online source will definately be the way to go. I looked for them for my TJ (uses the same parts as the YJ but in different locations) and NAPA was outrageous for their parts. Advanced Auto was better, but the local shop was best, same price as 4WheelParts about $15.

if you are going to spend that kinda money why not go with waggy steering or heims?

thats the point. I'm NOT spending that kind of money.

and what do you mean "just go w/ waggy steering" explain?
knuckles? or just tie rod and D link?

i dont know about YJ's much but i do belive a waggy 44 is the same width as a yj. and i think the waggy seering setup will fit if you inlarge the TRE hole on the knuckle and on the pitman arm.

can anyone confirm this.

NAPA used to be the best source for me to get auto parts. Recently a man and woman bought the local napa, and I must say I am disipointed with their service. They rely completly on their computer, and dont know what to do if the computer fails to give them what I need. Besides that, hteir prices are becoming more and more outrages as time goes on. I found a parts store recently that are far and away better then napa, they are a carquest dealer, but have a great local autoparts store atmospher. If they cant help me with my problem, they go out of their way to call evry 4wd drive shop in town to figure out my problem. I am disipointed in the degrading of NAPA, who everyone used to think was the only way to go.

You're right about the waggy hardware but they are really spendy or atleast were for me. Bore and taper the D30 and the pitman for the larger rod end and you're golden and the dimensions are close enough to adjust with the sleeve. Steering stabilizer is in a different location but other than that it's all plug and play. I ran waggy linkage on my D30 till I went to D44.

Any pictures, part numbers or more info, on this conversion? What size rod ends does the waggy use. Hmm, I'll do a search I'm sure it has been discussed before.
