I am looking to swap a more readily available alternator into my 99 disco series 1. I have seen that mean green has a set-up that will go into a disco with some brackets and a longer serp belt. My question is this,, can a cs144 alternator be used in place of the mean green alternator? This would give me peace of mind that if the alternator failed while in the boonies, i would have a better chance of finding a new one.

Anyone tried this? I tried searching the forum thru google but only came up with stuff that applied to v-belt vehicles.

I have tried to copy it and it works, but (I can't believe I'm saying this) why re-invent the wheel when one of our best friends and favorite guys to fawk with can make it easy for you? :flipoff2:
