Ok, I was reading another post with running rockwells on the street.. and running a 203 low backwards as an OD came up. Now I thought about that before..and i concluded that it would be better to have high axle gears, and much lower TC gears because I didnt think that the 203 was designed to run backwards, and the whole thing woudl probabally blow on me at the worst possiable moment (ya know, at 70 on the freeway). Am i right, or do I not know what I am talking about?

You might want to talk to Robert "ryeguy" Bryce if you haven't already. http://bc4x4.com/fv/2002/hulk/ :D

The gear reduction in a 203 uses a planetary gearset. It should work fine in either direction. By reversing it, it is subjected to less torque, but higher rotational speeds.

You must be thinking of the 208, the 203 uses a countershaft.

OTT built the reverse 203 for Rob Bryce. I think he had some overheating problems initially but they put some thrust bearing in it now and that seems to have solved it.

Pretty cool way to get an overdrive if you ask me :D

Yep, the reverse NP203 is working just fine now. Either OTT or us (Exaxt) can build a kit for you.
