I claim ignorance, I need some pretty simple questions answered on Dodge Diesel Diffs,..

I have an opportunity to grab some 99 Diesel diffs out of a 1 ton truck,.. the guy told me they were a 60/70 combo,.. My questions are,.. what gear ratios came stock in those in '99, bolt patterns ect, what side the pumpkin drop on in the front..and specs that you can provide would be awesome. Hopefully they will end up in my Cherokee,...

Thanks

I dont know anything but my guess is 8 bolt and gear ratio can vary just like on most vehicles. Can you get any numbers or tabs off the axels? I'm gussing agian you mean that not just the pumpkin?

I considered this for a budget upgrade. I bought a set for $300 pulled.

After pricing parts for them ($250 wheel bearings, $100 calipers) and researching them a bit my set wasn't quite up to task. I could have bought a kingpin 60 for what it would have cost me to "refresh" these ones.

The ones I had were 4.10's and out of an 01' Gas 2500, pumpkin was on drivers side and mounts could all be used fairly easily with minimal relocation.

I've seen a rig run these and claim no problems, it was a 2.5L though.

The front has an oddblall spline count and to upgrade the hubs i'll cost a small fortune.

I wouldn't mess with it.
