BULL SHIT!...

I weighed mine with 31s and a 3 inch lift right at 4250... I dont see 31's adding 1000 lbs.... that was with full hard doors and a supertop...

If you put a scale under each tire OR weighed the front then the rear, then added them all together to get the weight then you are WRONG! you have to weigh the whole vehicle at once to get an accurate weight. My full size K5 blazer (V8, 33's etc..) is only 4800 lbs. get a clue!

Yeah a 4cyl Soft top YJ only weighs 2800lbs according to the owners manual, I doubt that the factory is putting out BS numbers.

I had some lift info one time on car lifts and it had true weights of lot's of different vehicles they had weighed for recomended what lift you needed to buy for your needs. They had a stock 78' CJ 5 with sft top at 2680lbs and a stock YJ with a soft top at about 3300lbs I think. But with doors and a hard top and a some other small bolt on stuff and 31" tires I could see it having that much difference.

The weight should be on the sticker in the door frame. Mine says 4450 lbs.
Hard top and full steel doors.

3800 and 4100 - That must be with no top or doors or soft top and doors.

Mine weighs a hare over 4k with tons and 40' tires. Thats with no top or doors though. We have a large truck scale at work and is calibrated once a year.

For those of you looking at the weight on the sticker (GVW) that is the Gross Vehicle Weight, or the weight that is not to be exceded when fully loaded (people and all).

Then the Highway Patrol must be wrong when they use wheel scales to check truck weight…

Or only weighing a single axle at a time at most weigh stations.

My YJ, weighed at a weigh station came in at 5,000lbs. Fully loaded for the trail, Atlas, M20, D44 detriots me and passenger.

Weight split evenly, 50/50.

Every vehicle is going to be different.

btw - most weights from the factory dont' include fluids, and options, such as spare tires, etc. Supposedly my dodge ram is 4750lbs from the factory. NOT try 5,800.

I gotta get my 2000 TJ weighed. The only thing left stock on the drive train and suspension is the tranny, motor and front driveshaft…
