I'm considering a cab over camper for my long bed crew cab single wheel truck. Has anyone had experiences with them and what are the pros and cons. It seem like a much more comfortable way to spend weekends in the rough.

Thanks for any imput.

I don't have any exper. with one, but this is the way I look at it.
There realy big and bulky, and the weigh alot.

I've been thinking about a 4-wheel pop-up. Ther the same thing but the only weigh 800lb and fold down, so there not a huge wing break. They don't have a shitter either, but you can get a porta-shitter and close the blinds.

I have a Lance cabover. You CANT go wrong with a cabover! Camping at places like the Hammers is soooo much nicer when you have a camper. My camper is an older Lance ('82) and it has all the goodies: thermostatically controlled heaters, propane fridge (keeps beer ICE COLD) stove, oven, kitchen sink, huge shower and shitter, sleeps 4. It's WELL worth the extra towing weight.....

Hey Lance,

Did you get it at a dealer or private party? If you don't mind me asking, how much?

I've been looking for a camper also but most of them are friggin expensive!! Thanks for the help too.

I was wondering how much wind they catch. (Like a Lance that does not crank down.) I have an '84 Chevy Crew Cab single wheel with a '99 Vortec 350 with TH400 and 4.10's. With a 6" kit and 35" BF Muds it tows my Samurai very well. Is a Cab-Over going to be too much with a lift, trailer, and small block?

Opinions??
