Is it really that difficult to replace a CV boot? Any special tools needed?

Split boots suck. You can never get them to seal right. They are great for the trail side repair, but not for daily use. To put on a new boot is a pain in the ass. You have to pull the halfshaft out and seperate the joint. Find an aftermarket shaft with real rubber boots. Not the plastic chit. If you are going to have to drop the shaft out anyways, you might as well just put in a brand new one. Probably lookin at $70-110 for the shaft, and another $20 for the socket that fits the axle nut, if you don't already have it.
