Not hardcore tech:

In my 95 Sidekick 16v1600, the engine temp rose while I was in a parking garage, idling my way for about 15 minutes with little to no airflow through the radiator. Then finally the electric auxilliary fan (A/C radiator fan) turned on (as it should have done much sooner) and brought the temp back down to normal. I thought it was weird that it would take so long to come on but just passed that off as normal and nothing to worry about.

Then after sitting parked for a few hours, I turned the engine back on and the fan came on immediately. And ever since then, even in the cold morning, the fan comes on with the ignition. I don't have the A/C on so it's not because of that, and my engine is operating at the proper temperature, but the fan is now permanently on.

I'm wondering if perhaps the relay for the fan could have stuck "off" and then finally kicked "on" and is now stuck in the "on" position? I haven't yet had time to track down where the relay is located, but if any of you think this might be the cause of the problem and can tell me where it's located under the hood, that'd save me some time and would sure be appreciated. Thanks!

bet it's more likely a temperature switch than the relay.

Good thinking. Any idea where that might be on this truck?

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Any idea where I might be able to find the temperature switch?
