: new EB cage pics!!
offroadr35 04-09-2002, 07:26 PM Built by Scott at Rockstomper. The silver was my choice...not sure if i dig it too much but it's growing on me. The cage is 2" .120 wall DOM and the seat mounts and everything are 1.5". There will be an easily removeable speedglass windshield bolted to the cage. Next step is to lower the rear suspension 3" and get out the SAWZALL!!

btw, i was in baltimore on thursday, fri, and sat. second time ive been there. inner harbor kicks ass! :D
thats sweet. my brother and i stopped by and saw it last week, looks tuff as nails. better than your old bent one.--brad
ARokCrwlr 04-09-2002, 08:23 PM Not bad - don't know about the silver either, but I'm kinda stuck on black for tubing.
Why -3" in the rear. Won't that make it sit ass low:question:
offroadr35 04-09-2002, 08:32 PM nope, the previous owner had the suspension jacked up REALLY high. We're guessing probably 12" of lift. The front came down about 5-6" when i switched the leafs (don't ask) out for custom wristed arms and BC 5.5" coils. It is a good 5-6" lower than the rear. I'm taking out the 3" lift blocks in the rear and it should be pretty close to even...a little lower in the front which isn't a bad thing. I wanted to get the COG down as much as possible. The rear won't have to be hacked too much, the front is probably due for a good bit of sawzalling. The tubing is just spray painted I figured it was easier to change silver to black than the other way. It actually makes the tube look really good, just doens't go great with the orange

I designed it for function over form so that's a definite compliment. It actually looks pretty cool in person I think.
And yes, Baltimore is pretty sweet...i'm jealous you got to go, i miss it. Boulder is pretty nice too though. First thing when i get home in May i'm goin for some hard shell crabs...can't wait.

welndmn 04-10-2002, 10:23 AM Looks really neat so far
I just think that Exo bar running acroos the fender looks odd, it does not seem to follow the body line just right
But that windhild bar, coming outside the door piller is really cool!, that a main hit point, add something like that to behind the door to even it out and it would be set!
offroadr35 04-10-2002, 12:25 PM the exo bar in the front does follow the body lines...it just doesn't appear that way in the pics because the rear is 5" higher than the front. Most of the body under that bar is going to be sawzalled off anyway. I'm not sure if that bar will do anything, it was just an idea because in my last roll i smashed the stuff up there pretty good. You can't see it in the rear, but there is tube running over the wheelwells that will brace the quarter panels (i bent one in about 15 degrees), I just wanted some protection in front too. I'll post some more pics when all the hacking is done.

offroadr35 04-10-2002, 01:02 PM dimitri...it's still in the shop, when i get it home i'll take some pics of whatever you want. Hopefully i'll have it by the end of this week. If you need them sooner I'm sure Scott will probably send you some if you ask.

Flatty 04-10-2002, 01:06 PM Right on, I will e-mail Scott and see if he can send me some. I really dig the cage you got there.

rpenner54 04-10-2002, 01:46 PM Sweet! Is that the rig that was sitting behind his shop looking like it had rolled a few to many times? There was en EB sitting back there with a smitty? cage in it that had rolled and the cage had deflected a bunch.

Yup, that was me. It wasn't a smitty cage, just something the previous owner fabbed up that didn't quite stand up to my type of wheeling. I'm glad you guys like it, at least it's somewhat original. The speedglass windshield will be really nice. We're planning on fascining it with 6 nutcerts in the cage...that way if i want to go without it, it's just a matter of 6 bolts.
Anyone good at photoshop want to chop that front fender for me?
IronBenderII 04-11-2002, 06:18 PM That thing is fat. I agree that a matching bar would suit form and function in the rear.
I'd totally love to do an exo like that as well, but there would be no way to do doors/top in the winter and I dig winter wheelin.
Oh yeah, I like the silver. My cage is white and I like it much better than black. It hides the dings better and is easier to rattle can over when it gets scratched/dented.
I've got photoshop, tell me where you want it cut and I'll see wht I can do. Later...
