I'm in the process of trying to sell my 1.3 and EFI engine. Any estimate on the weight of the engine, or hints on cheap shipping on it?

Weighed my 1.3 longblock by stepping on bathroom scale, first me, them me with the longlblock in my arms, and subtract ME.
I'm serious. thats how I got the weight for shipping my 1.3 longblock..
Can't remember the numbers as it was over 2 years ago.
If you can manhandle a Toyota rear Axle, you can lift a 1.3 longblock.. :smokin:

I recently shipped my 1990 longblock core, it weighed 116 lbs. I found that UPS was reasonable (under $75 bucks).

This is interesting - splitting it into two packages (long block in one, manifolds/computer stuff in other..) and Fedex/UPS will take it..
hmm..

I've shipped Toy rear ends in pieces via UPS.. housing, 3rd, and axles, all in separate packages. Biggest problem was UPS wanted them packaged, so I grabbed a roll of that 'saran wrap' type packaging film and went nuts.
I have a friend who 'dismantles' jeeps on the side and has shipped Auto transmissions in 'pieces' to get the weight down.
It depends upon how creative you can get.

The only caution I would offer is UPS will charge you an extra 6 bucks if it is not ina cardboard box. I had to ship the long block in a 1/2" plywood box that was built for engines.
