My buddy is going to bolt up a NP435 to a 2.5L iron puke. We have a belhousing from a munchie 4 speed, but it looks a little bit shakey, especially seeing is how we have to grind the area where the input shaft of the tranny goes through the housing. Did chevy offer any kind of cast iron belhousing for any transmission that will fit the 60 degree motors??
Thanks in advance

A 60 degree bell housing will not fit the pontiac 2.5.. You need a regular chevy bellhousing from a truck(pick up or blazer either one)..with the large bearing retainer hole.... Unless I misread your question and you are actually putting a 2.8 V6 in there..

The aluminum belhousing was from a camaro 2.5L I-4. The block is out of an S-10 with the same motor

GET A T-R-U-C-K BELLHOUSING they have the larger bearing retainer hole(about 5-1/8 inches), the cars all have the small retainer hole..

Thanks for the info on the trucks. We broke down and took the belhousing into the machine shop to get turned.(along with throw out bearing retainer) We didnt want the belhousing from the motor (it was a hydraulic setup). The belhousing from the truck motor didn't fit either, they both appeared to be the same size.

It has to be a real truck (1/2 ton -3/4 ton -1 ton -blazer -or suburban) NOT the S10
