For those running a d60/14 bolt combo - what master cyl are you running? I have read that the 86 Supra master is good for disc swaps but how would it be for this combo? Anybody running the stock MC without problems? This will be on a 77 model fj40 if it matters. Thanks in advance.

I just had the same question, posted it here, then found the rockstomper 1-ton master + toyota plate adapter. I did a bunch of searches and talked to people and it seems like the best way to go. You might be able to buy a reman master & make your own plate adapter cheaper. I have no time so Rockstomper's was the way to go for me.

This is also interesting reading:

I'll be running D60 front w/ discs, 14-bolt rear w/ 3/4-ton Chevy truck discs rear, probably all-new lines, and I think I'll use the T100 booster, got one on the way, used. I'll have a line-lock in one of the circuits, plus a High-Angle Driveline parking brake on the NP205 t-case. This is in my '76 FJ55.

Trying to acc-en-tuate the positive.

Plus I really dig Steinbeck, and FJ55s. It's just copacetic.

Morgan - FYI Ian is going to be home this weekend if you still need to chat about the D60. I also am a Steinbeck fan (Travels with Charlie - which was made into a travelogue with Henry Fonda) - he was not much liked around his home town of Salinas! Andy

Cool. I may give Ian a call this weekend. Will be trying to sort out u-bolts and spring plates next.

And brakes.

And wheels and tires.

Running stock 72 booster/master. 60 front with stock gm brakes, 14bolt with disc's. No prop valve or nothing, no problems. I would try your stock set-up first before spending $. If it doesnt work out, then you can mess with other set-ups. Its hit and miss with brakes, what works for one guy doesnt allways work for the other.

Drum/disc......the mid 80's one ton GM with adapter which is easily fabbed yourself.
Disc/Disc late 80's Vette with same adapter or
95 80 series LC if ya want a bolt on with disc/disc:smokin: :smokin: all 3 work very well

i did it this way. fairly easy, pretty cheap. had to reflare the lines. had 1 leaking and had to do a double flare. works great.

happy with the supra on my junk. The only thing is if you rip a brake line you only have one resesivor instead of two like the lc's.

Anyone know the bore size of a 86 supra MC?
Also, I thought the 95 80 series had ABS. Is than an issue? THe bore size of
an 80 MC is supposed to be 1"

Trying to stay with LC MC if possible since it will be a bolt on and I don't have to worry about leaks like the GM MC.
