Just bought some autometer guages. Where is the best place to put the tranny guage and the oil temp guage? Do I have to tap the pans for these or can I put them somewhere better?

I had my trans temp guage inline on the output side trans cooler line. My kit came with a compression "T" fitting to do this.
Oil temp really depends on what engine you're running. If it's a SBC best place is the pressure port right above the oil filter.

Its a BBF. I wanted to use that port for the oil pressure. Any other options?

Thanks

Now now, do we have to resort to that

I still say on the dash works best :flipoff2:

Are you trying to be cool or functional?

Most auto stores sell the mounting tabs, or you can be like the bling crowd and use the fancy pods mounted on pillar.

Is ForestCam the only intelligent person around here? OK my bad, I should have been more specific. Where to put the gawd damn sender NOT the fawken guage itself. Besides they are already mounted in the DASH.

If I can save tapping (to be more specifc that means drilling holes) the oil pans (these are the things on the bottom of the engine and the bottom of the transmission that holds the oil). The engine is what makes the.................:rasta:

Hey I read it as two questions, I only answered the first. See the two question marks in your quote? I'll try and answer them both this time, I don't want you to think we're all rednecks that work with our hands :flipoff2:

Still say in the dash, but I guess you knew that already, sorry.

On my auto temp I used a tee at the radiator on the feed side. On the oil temp my engine has a second port for just these things, you can also use a tee for the temp and pressure senders. I don't know Fords but look for the second port first, then use a tee if not. I guess you could tap the pan, but why the tee should not affect the pressure sender.

Jeez now there that wasn't so bad
