Locking the diff in GV

Hello everyone,

I'm new at this forum, but I was told that this place is a nice source of info, so here I am....

Some time ago I started to improove the offroad ability of my suzuki grand vitara. The base is 2004 model with 2.0 benzin motor & manual transmision. What I've changed is:
- 2'' body lift
- 1&1/3'' front suspension lift, 1'' rear susp. lift
- solid metal undercar protection
- custom made front bumper with 10000 winch
- also custom made rear bumper with housing for big, heavy spare wheel
- roof cargo (custom)
- MT tires 245/75R16

So, that's all about my car, now my question.

The RockyRoad sells a automatic locker for rear diff of suzuki grand vitara (in fact they claims this fit all vitaras). This is the LockRight locker. I've checked to LockRight site and I've found nothing abuot it. LockRight claims they make lockers for sj & samurai only.....

Does anyone tried to lock the GV's rear diff with a little help of LockRight? Does it really fits?

Have you called Lock rite? Maybe you can get some better answers on the phone. ARB may make a locker for the Gv. Not sure though

I haven't called them. I live outside the USA, so I don't have the access to "free" phone numbers. That's why I ask here.

someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that all suzuki 4 pin diff carriers are the same? I know the sidegears differ from the GV's, trackicks, and samurais but the locker will fit all those carriers.

I once swapped a rear samurai lockrite into a trackick rearend with no issues.

Any ARB dealer can get you the air lockers for the Grand Vitara.

Front part # is ARB RD88
Rear part # is ARB RD79

if you want LockRight, 1512 is the part number that fit.

i will most likely get a Lockright, ARB is too expensive for me
