sorry about the newb question, i dont know much about suzuki stuff. just looking for brainstorming ideas when my K5 starts to feel too big.
im looking to build a project with probably suzuki parts. what im wondering is if all the motors have the same bellhousing. i am thinking about trying to find a sidekick tranny/t-case then run a geared sami case behind it. is this done alot? anybody have any advice or suggestions? WB isnt really an issue, nor lift height. it will see mostly rocks and no pavement.
thanks

well, all the samurai motors should be the same. all the sidekick motors should also be the same. you'll need an adapter to put a sammy tranny behind a sidekick motor. if you want any horsepower at all you need a sidekick motor, then it just bolts right up to the sidekick tranny/t-case. just make you a mount and put the sammy case behind it. or better yet, get a dana 18 or 20 depending on where your rear chunk is. jd

...and the sammy tranny is stronger than the track/kick trannies...

i dont think i would want a dana case behind it , cause i think i want a 8-1 gear set in the sami one. and i want the divorced so i can make equal drivelines. this is not a samurai, nor a sidekick right now. but i will have a free 1.0 TBI motor. i would run that tell i felt the need for for a 16v. but it will never see the road, nor freeway wind resistance. but i might just buy a whole sidekick for the tranny and tcase, so i might have a 16v anyways. it will be runnning chevy 10 bolts front and rear. once again, cause that is what i happen to have.

Well the 1.0 will bolt up to a Samurai tranny with no adapter because it has the same bellhousing as a 1.3. The 1.6s have a different bellhousing that they all share. :D
