Alright, I just bought a blazer, it is 150 miles away. I plan on driving it back, but all it has is manifolds, no exhaust. I have never owned a blazer (im excited though) so I don't know how the exhaust is supposed to be. After thinking about it, I might be able to rig together some good exhaust while I am up there using a local shop....however, gotta plan ahead so Im not there overnight.

1. How do stock exhausts go? Passenger Manifold to a pipe that crosses over to the driver pipe and then out through the tranny xmember?

2. Should I route it this way?

3. If I can go to a junkyard today and get a crossover Y pipe (what bolts to the manifolds down to where it necks down to the single pipe) what vehicle can I get it off of? Will any 80s y pipe fit the k5?

I figure if I can take a y-pipe that will bolt to the manifolds like stock, I can just have a shop there do a little pipe work after it and add muffler and hanger and dump it after the muffler. It would be cheaper than having them bend it all. That way I get off a little cheaper and I don't have to drive home with open headers.

CAN SOMEONE SHOW ME PICS OF BLAZER EXHAUST? I just need to have an idea what Im gonna be dealing with. If you don't understand what I'm saying above, A good undercarriage pic of a blazer will do fine.

1. Yes
2. i wouldn't. My front drive shaft hit my Y-Pipe when I lifted my Burb. I don't know if Blazers have the same problem.
3. I have no idea.

www.coloradoK5.com would be a good plaace to look for pics and ask this question.

yeah, k5 is a good site in terms of people, but my acct never wants to work and the overall site just treats me like shit for some reason. I can't ever see the pictures that are attached due to some permissions problem.

if you are going to go to the junkyard why not look at other chevys and see how they are done.
What I would do is take the hole exhaust off another chevy from the junkyard, and use that on yours. You might have to cut a little, but it should work. (that is if you are able to find an exhaust that is good)

For a temp. setup you could get some flex pipe and have a coupler made to go from man. to (whatever size flex pipe)slip it over it but a clamp on it and do it the way you want when you get home.

HTH

*edit* this way you could just use to pieces and run them back four or five feet and get some wire and wire it up to the frame. Should get you home. Sounds ghetto but would work.

You can probably look in the gallery for some pics. I would not pay too much for a Y-pipe setup until you are sure that it won't interfere with a lift. Just use the getto fab flex pipe to get home and have it done right the first time.
