I searched and now have a headache.
Here is what I have....
A 70 blazer with 8lug Axle originiality questionable...
a 78 (stock) with 8lug.
Both are 4x4....
They are both 14 bolt rears
they are both 10 bolt fronts.
They both run ball joints.
All I can find are carrier #'s
The rear axle in the 70 chev has the big bolts on the outside of the rim on the axle. FF? corporate? All the #'s I have on the rear axle on the 70....3977323 off the carrier.
The rear axle on the 78 does not have any bolts... It actually has GM14 on the carrier....It looks big though....N9690
Front axle....
70 blazer... 44-5GF......C36585f....Flat top knuckles on both sides
78 front round knuckle on the pass side... 14030318...
I can't seem to find # on the axle tubes...Where EXACTLy do I look? Then maybee I could use the dana web page that popped up alot in my search.
I know this is a stupid newbie thing but damnit I am a newbie to fullsize.... At least one set of axles will be for a buggie :D

If your axle looks like this on the end then it is a ff 14bolt, if it doesn't then it most likely is a semi-float ( if it has 14 bolts on the diff.) Gm made two and the ff is way better.

The fronts are probably a d44 open knuckle and a d44 closed knuckle. One way to tell if you have a gm 10 bolt is to look at the axle from the front and if there are two tab looking things ( one on each lower side of the diff.) Good luck.
Also look here for id of diff.

a 70 front would be dana 44 not 10bolt chev
a 78 should be a 10bolt chev

you have been online long enough to know better,
now try and search before posting stupid questions that have been answered a thousand times on here.
if you were a newbie I would point it out for you but you are simply lazy

Been here forever :D basically... Did search under axles... Holly shit!! Where in the hell are the #'s on the tubes? front/rear? pass/drive side? I will get the GD #s and just look em up under that DANA sight....
The axle on the 70 looks like the FF. The other has a flat plate at the rim. What are the two tabs on the front that you talk of? They both have an open knuckle where I can see the shafts....
BTW ask me a toyota Q.... I don't run fullsize axles...I know how to drive :D

Iv'e been on that page BTW... It doesn't really do shit for telling me how to ID the axle from the outside... If I tore em down then I guess I could measure the ring but fuk that. There has to be an "easier"way..
