Hey all! I am a Jeeper but my buddy has an '06 Xterra. Last months (May) issue of FourWheeler had an article about how to rewire the electricals of a Frontier's locker for 4hi use. Does anyone one know if this would be the same for an Xterra? Does anyone have a link of some sort that I can send to my buddy. FourWheelers web site only has up to the Part 3 online....maybe next month they will add Part 4? If not I guess I could always photocopy my mag and give that to him? Thanks!

yes they should be the same. I haven't seen what the steps are, but I have heard the yota guys just cutting the wires and rewiring it altogether so they can use the locker anytime they want.

I think it's stupid that they wire them so they can only be used in 4L.

not stupid if newbie drivers use 4hi in snow and this helps newbies from fishtailing.

this article is covered in either offrad mag or petersons of the newest eddition. showes every step. you require a relay and a toggle switch to tell it when you want it to come on

............I know it is in FourWheeler mag! I was hoping I could just link it to my buddy. I was looking for some online info that I could link to him. I just wanted to pass on the info.

Yeah, we can all thank the liability departments for keeping newbies safe and out of harm...and causing harm to others. I am kind of liking some things about the old days better.
