The 4.3 in my Jimmy is bored .30 over... 4.3 is originally 262 cubes... .30 over is 267 cubes... .40 over is 272 cubes... .60 over is 277 cubes... The #s arent total approximate cubes, but close... I havent seen many 4.3 Strokers, so I dont know about a Stroker Crank

Unless theres some reason you really really really don't want to put a small block in, hot rodding a 4.3 really isn't worth the money. I've been there, I tried, you just don't get the performance for the $$ you're looking for. Stroker stuff does exist, it's expensive. heads are expensive. Anything that isn't shared with a 350 (which a good amount is) is expensive. And you stilld on't see any kind of real performance out of it.

If you want to bore a 4.3 block to clean up the walls (the only valid reason for boring a block anyway, short of going way craazy), .030 is plenty. No reason to go bigger than that. the few cubes won't buy you anything.

agreed, boring an engine is for removing scoring and a percision fit. boring is not a way to make power.

plus, if you bore it deep and blow it, your screwed. if the walls are smooth and the mic says its good, spend your money on other go fast parts.

Not sure what kind of power your looking for?
Stock 4.3L pushes aobut 235-250 pound torque.
Its cheaper to drop in a V8 to get more power, unless weight is the driving force.

Common upgrades that wont blow your budget are cam, headers, and a chip.
Here is a decent breakdown of reasonable upgrades.
