All: Our next planning meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 15th, from
6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the BLM Carson City office conference room.
At this meeting, we'll work to identify and discuss resource managment
issues pertinent to the Pine Nut Mountains planning area. The following
steps may help you to prepare for this discussion.
1. Review the issues identified in the pre-plan Analysis.
2. Refine these issues by completing additional specific issue
statements. Be as specific as possible in these statements. Many of the
issues in the pre-plan analysis are presented in detail. Others are not.
Add new detailed statements as needed.
3. Identify locations within the Pine Nut Planning Area where the issue
is expressed. Identify these areas on the planning area map. Be as
detailed as our information regarding each issue allows.
4. Consider the each issue within the context of other issues identified
in the pre-plan analysis as refined in step 2 above.
5. Identify issue interactions. Complete an issue interaction matrix.
6. Rate the issues High, Medium and Low priority based on the apparent
intensity of the individual issue and issue interactions.
7. Identify data and inventory needs to help define the issue, issue
interaction and location.
8. Once we have completed these steps in collaboration with our planning
partners the stage will be set to begin work on the Analysis of the
Management Situation.
This process may also help us in determining how to break into smaller
workgroups.
Thanks. -tcrawford
PS. If, for some reason, you can't read this, call me and we'll make other
arrangements.
