: The truth about who is going to the TTC
mudtruck44 04-10-2002, 06:12 PM I got sick of all the rumors about who dropped out and who was going now so I called Fourwheeler back and asked them. #48 dropped out, he is being replaced by #33 Toby Lavender. The rumor that #5 was going is not true. I don't know why he told anyone he was going but I heard it straight from the source that he isn't.
road1will 04-10-2002, 06:19 PM what was 48 driving???
mudtruck44 04-10-2002, 06:21 PM He had the Landcruiser with the dual Marlin Crawlers and 42" Swampers.

the blue one? too bad, that thing was pretty badass. what is Toby Lavender bringing?
mudtruck44 04-10-2002, 06:36 PM High hood Willy's with a TBI 350 3/4 ton axles (10 bolt front) 4-link with coilovers and 38" Swampers. I think that the Cruiser was probably better.

10 bolt front? hell yeah the crusier was better...
who actually SWAPS IN a 10 bolt?
High5 04-10-2002, 06:54 PM man that cruizer was one of the rigs i liked!! did they say why he dropped?
Patman 04-10-2002, 07:47 PM Toby Lavenders Rig is ultra clean, and he'll have to coverup the big PAINTED "Lavender Brothers 4 wheel drive" accross the back.
Nice rig, it was on the cover of 4wd&SU a few months back, it has some interesting engineering. But will be very hard to beat in the Show and Shine.
Either way, good luck to everyone who's in it.
i mean the thing weighs nothing, so i dont see why a 10 bolt would be a problem, maybe they will switch something before the comp:rolleyes:

thing looks badass in person, seen it a couple times when i was down in hollister:D
Jeff_Super_S 04-10-2002, 09:47 PM This is one of those friend of a friend deals but my friend has talked to #5, the orange blazer, and he is going this year (no matter what you heard). He said he is going as #11 (the alternate) . Yeah I know that's a hell of a long way from Texas for a alternate to drive, that's what I said. But he said when 4-wheeler called him they said he's almost guarenteed to get in because 3 people are coming from Canada and the guy from Isreal got picked too. So basicaly he's probably in.
TheLakeRat 04-10-2002, 10:04 PM Yeah Toby Harrell #5 came in today and ordered extra 35 spline outers and CTMs to put in them. so he's pretty surte he's going

that fawker's there every weekend:p talk about home feild advantage, i just doubt he's done tank trap for fear of getting that purdy rig muddy.

I saw some pics of his rig in trap a while back. Since his axles are full width, i don't think his body would come even close to touching. But the full sizes should have fun :p As stover and I have stated in the other thread winching and water proofing will be the key to trap.
Have fun guys. Phil:usa:
I think I can safely say that Rob Bryce and Tim Dzaman (#'s 7 and 13 respectively) are coming down from the Great White North here to kick some yankee ass. http://bb.bc4x4.com/images/smilies/canadian-flag.gif :flipoff2: Don't know about that big red Chevy though.

Same kind of person who swaps in a 44 since they're essentially identical in durability :D

bigblaze 04-11-2002, 11:44 AM hey even with a full size in the canyon it is no problem(as long as your not afraid of a little body damage) and try to ride driver side high(try) without waisting anytime! either way to me it would be hard not to enjoy it but maybe i am just that away.
sweden 04-11-2002, 12:12 PM Did some mog-rig make it to the top ten?

Yeah you are right about not being afraid of a little body damage. That red Scout and Red Chevy are looking awfuly pretty though. I was surprised at how little damage you came out with. Did you only winch out of the last two holes?
Phil
xextr3m3 04-11-2002, 05:20 PM Lavender Bros jeep is badass......I never see him driving it though, his mom and some other woman with a kid driving:p
TheLakeRat 04-11-2002, 07:57 PM Toby Harrell (#5) came in today and brought in his packet he recieved from Fourwheeler. I made a copy and here is the list
1-Jerry Cantrell (12) Mustang, OK.
2-Tim Dzamin (13) Calgary, Alberta, Canada
3-John Reynolds (54) La Crescenta, CA.
4-Scott Godfrey (31) Citrus Heights, CA.
5-Barry Toledano (67) Tel Aviv, Israel
6-Robert Bryce (7) Victoria British, Columbia, Canada
7-Abelarto "Abba" Ramirez (53) Corning, CA.
8-Jesse Haines (28) TraverseCity, MI.
9-Corey Dean (25) Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
10-Toby Lavender (33) Seaside, CA.
Alternates:
11-Toby Harrell (5) San Angelo, TX.

Four Wheeler says they expect at least one person to drop out and that Toby needs to be there for the start.

hey Rob, are you serious?!
mine has arrived a week ago and i'm in Israel,
not Canada.
you should give'm a call
ryeguy 04-13-2002, 01:53 PM Yep, still haven't got it. But the border can be a pain some times. And sometimes I think Canada Post is still using dog teams to deliver mail. If it isn't here by Tuesday, I'll likely contact them (can you PM me their contact #?)

I am pretty sure that they dropped Show and Shine. BigBlaze, did you guys do that last year? I don't remember reading about it in the rag.
Toby's flatfender is pimp, and it is running the same front axle that Shannon Cambell won TTC with a few years ago. I just moved to Monterey and I pass Lavender Bros shop every day on my way to work. :flipoff2:

I haven't gotten mine yet either. He called me again last week to get my
postal code, so maybe that's the problem.
Sure hope he didn't misspell my name that bad :D

Tim,

be of a completely different nature.;)
what was it with the ice hockey a while ago(men AND whomen)?
if i were in your shoes i'd start thinking there is another
reason for the Canadians not getting their packets:D :rasta: :D
