Thanks

nope, 351w is small block bolt pattern. pretty sure 351m is big block. 352/360/390 "unique" lol

Oh damn so your saying i would have to get new motor mounts? a 360 is a small block right? so would the 351W work? or what ?

Thanks

Will the stock auto tranny work with the 351?

The stock tranny will be a c-6 so it wont work with your 351.The 360 is kind of an intermediate block, yes you will need some new motor mounts. If your going to put that much work into it though I would highly reccommend a 460, it would be just as much work and youd probably be happier with it.

the easiest route - and cheapest - would be to find another 352, 360 or 390 FE (or even a 428..:smokin: ) to put in there. Anything else is going to require an engine AND tranny swap, different mounts, etc.

Ford never made a 'big block' or 'small block' - that is a Chevy terminology. Ford made numerous engine 'series' and some are 'big small-blocks' and some are 'small big-blocks' and some defy characterization alltogether..which is why using the Chevy terms is confusing and pointless. But everybody does it for some reason...:p

For a nice inexpensive upgrade to your 360, you can install a 390 crank and rods and you'll have a 390. Better still is a 428 crank and you'll end up with a 410 (but they're pricey).

FTE has an FE discussion forum - you may wanna check there for performance info.
