Those are cool but do you got alloy shafts to match?
Serios question because that is what i want to run but not until i can get alloy shafts for a more reasonable price than having a machinist make them.

Yep, Pyro is right. They are $200.00 apiece. They weigh almost 3.5 lbs each! Worth every penny.

Ian,
Jack will make a set of double splined 300M shafts with press on 300M yolks if you want. Call him to discuss price. He said Chris Durham hasn't broke his frontend since he installed his and he is running the same shafts I am. How strong can you afford to go?!!? :flipoff2:

anyone have a pic of a 44 CTM next to a 60 CTM?
I just think it would look cool

so i was thinking about this the other day on my hp 60 front...if i went to CTMs and alloy shafts, what would the weak link be? I'd have to go with some slugs cuz i'd be breaking my hubs all the time...then what? I'm sure you thought through this before you got the CTMs, what did you come up with?

The hubs will be my fuse for the time being, or at least until I can get some 35 spline drive flanges. :nuke:

Your right in that the joints won't break. However, unless your running alloy 60 shafts or plan on buying some alloy front shafts your wasting your money. The ears on the axleshafts will rip right off when using a 35 spline stub with drive flange. This is from personel experience from the first set of 60 joints jack ever made .But, if you are going to run alloy front shafts they are the sh@t!:D

anyone else worried about making the wheel studs the weak point?
If they start producing alloy 35 spline front shafts in custom lengths for less than the national deficit I am definitly in! how about a complete package deal?

If you are asking what I am running, I am running shortened Spicers. Although Jack is looking into pricing for me for the 300M's.

If you are really serios about having alloy shafts made, contact camo the guy building his axles will make ANYTHING, and has made some alloy and 300m 60 shafts just like the warns, all one piece. Camo estimated for a set of alloy fronts with stubs, 35 spline about 1500 that was a little pricy for me right now but in the future i hope to run something similar.
Give me a PM when you get a price quote from jack on the shaft, because i may not be able to afford them right now but i want to keep my eye on whats available and the prices.

See ya on the trails.

Oh Jack will build you one piece shafts with Yokes, but the price goes up accordingly. Sandy Cone (the guy building camo's stuff) can do the same thing and their prices are very similar. Just the chunk of billet 300M for the long side axle w/yoke is ~$600.00!!!! Materials cost is the biggest hurdle to overcome.

That joint goes on a 600 HP pinch roll motor. We've never broken one of those joints, but the caps come off sometimes, throwing the whole thing around, bending the shaft. thought you might like to see one (they are around 1400$) Sorry about the chit-chat:emb:
