i had the front end apart to repack the wheel bearing after the last wheeling trip. water hadnt made it into the bearing, but i went to add fresh grease anyway. the inner most bearing seemed like new. but when i pulled it off the spindle, i noticed that the spindle had changed colors from getting hot where the bearing was spinning on the spindle.
the bearing seems good. i have only seen this before when the bearing went bad.
any ideas on what i need to do to make this right? new bearings, spindle or both?
