Anyone tried this?
Someone told me that the pinion is too long for a SWB Jeep. My wheelbase is stock.
I've measured. the Sterling is 2" longer than a d60.
Should I sell the sterling, and look for a d60?

I say go for it, I've always liked those axles because they are so freaking huge. From what I've heard they don't have the locker/gear/after market support that 60s do so I would make sure you can get the locker and gear combination you want first.

You can go as low as 5:13 in the Sterling. Detroit is available. I know for 5:13 you have to use a yoke from a 10.5 Sterling.

There's a full detoit for both SF and FF. And Powertraxx makes a lunchbox locker for the FF.
Gears are way expensive compared to a d60, but they're available.
That's no tmy concern. I heard the pinion is too long.
Who's put a d60 in a TJ? will a 2" linger pinion cause problems?

Actually Randy's has carried 5.38's for a long time. ;)
