Just in case anyone is interested I feel that the intertia ring is the number one performance mod you can do to a 4cyl. I know the best mod for a 4cyl is more cyls but for those of us stuck with the 2.5 look into this add on. $148 shipped and easy install. You can't beat this combination. I am now able to actually let my 4cyl idle through obstacles. Before the ring the engine had trouble idling below 700rpms now I can hold the brakes and almost come to a complete stop. The 2.5 rattles shakes makes horrible noises but it keeps runnimg.
To sum it up I am impressed!!

Looks like a must have for anyone doing a clutch or tranny job. sounds like Jason kinda pioneered the thing. I coulda used the thing this past weekend. Tried to take a rock outcropping at idle with 4.88's and stalled it and rolled backwards with 50 people watching. Had to do it all over with the clutch.

I just want to agree, it's the biggest bang/$ mod I've ever done.
90:1 doesn't seem inadequate anymore.
One problem: A couple times I thought I stalled it, pushed in the clutch and tried to start it when the engine was actually still turning. GRIINNNCH.

I heard its only supposed to be used for off-road. Anyone use it on their Jeep around town? Are there any problems from using it on road? MY jeep is my DD, so I was just wondering if it would affect the jeep at all.

I didn't notice anything except a little easier to launch without bogging.

i've had it on my Jeep for more then a year..and i have to say it is extremely usefull off road..on road havent noticed any differences...it crawls just fine when it stalled out before...i can crawl all day when the techometer is basically at 0 maybe a hair above 0..that's pretty damn good in my book
