What's the width of the Scout D44's?
A friend wants to upgrade the axles on his CJ5, but does not want full width Waggy axles. I'm thinking that the Scout axles might be his ticket.
I'll be glad when the search function is back....It's like trying to go and grab a cold beer, with two broken legs.

Scout and Waggy axles are fairly close in width. But neither are full width like Chevys or fords. I think the Scout rear is around 59-60". Not sure on the front.

Scout is 58 on the back and 59.5 in the front. Perfect swap for a cj.Some bolt pattern and is much stronger.

stick around late 1970's...if you find a 1980 one(round headlights) pull the transfer case too as it will be a dana300 and you'll have another upgrade from the Dana20 for the CJ5 :D

What makes you think his CJ5 has the D20 T-case ? I didn't see where he mentioned the year.

other cool thing about scout rears anyway is the axle shafts are the same length. Only need to carry one spare.

The 1980 scout has rectangle headlamps not round and the most Castor of all years.

I have a bunch of extra scout diff stuff. Two rear shafts re-drilled to 6 on 5.5. Could just weld up the one hole and use the other 5 on 5.5 though. I also have a good set of front shafts. Needs new joints, but otherwize good shape. I have a complete rear Scout diff, re-drilled to 6 on 5.5 and 4.10 gears. Open carrier... And i have from the knuckles out of a front diff... 1 1/2 hubs, knuckles... calipers, ect. Rotors were shot. Anyone interested in the stuff, e-mail me at tear_jester@hotmail.com I know this isn't the for sale section... but someone asked. :flipoff2:
