What's the general concensus on using a set of add-a-leafs to fit a set of 31's on a YJ? Looking more for street use and very little off-roading (the toyota is really for that) Not wanting to go much taller than that since I'll run into gearing problems if I decided on 33's....

OR - Would it look "odd" to have one of the 3.5-4" complete replacement spring lift kits and only run 31's?

Anyone ever do this - got pics??

Dont go with add a leaves if you want a good street driver. Its a harsh ride. Go with a body lift and TJ flares that will fit 31's no problem.

No offense but body lifts look like crap IMHO - I'd rather do a 4" spring lift and run what may be too "tiny" 31 inch tires before doing a 2-3" body lift.

A friend of mine had procomp 2.5" springs and 31s a few years ago. It worked really well and the ride was almost like stock.

Change to TJ flares and run your 31's on the street. If you need a tad extra room, run a 1" BL. A buddy of mine runs 31's with just the TJ flares though.

I hate body lifts too, but if he wants to street drive it with mild off roading a small 1 inch body lift doesnt look bad. Who said you need 2 or 3 inches of BL to run 31's? TJ flares will easily net you enough to run 31's and when you trim they have enough flex. Im just giving you what you want cheap. You dont need new springs but if you do decide that route more power to you.

I had a 91 with a 1.5" shackle lift and a 1" body lift with 31s. Looked nice and rode the same as factory. Without the 1" bl my tires would rub the flares on bumpy roads.
