Today should be the master cylinder and turning over the motor.
Tonight we plan on doing some flexing (I'll be there with my camera this time) so we can see where I need to cut of some extraneous sheet metal.
Monday should be final mountings and tightening of everything. Topping off fluids then a trip to the exhaust shop.
It's really close to being done and Mike is having his guys working feverishly on it. Good thing too, it's about ready to take a big trip to Moab!
What do you guys think about the exhaust? I had a Flowmaster 40 but for simplicity I'm thinking keeping the pipes seperate and running a Thrush or similar and just exit out right before the rear tires or run them straight out the back? Those with this engine that went to too much free flow have seen a drop in performance and gas mileage. Thoughts????
Skyetone 04-11-2002, 06:53 AM well I thought that thing already ran... Hey do you have better pix of the rear disks? Maybee some info on how to do it myself through the J-yard? I just got a 70 blazer 3/4 ton 14bolt rear with disks... The PO may end up taking em back. I still want em.. Can you fit 15 inch rims?
rokryder 04-11-2002, 07:19 AM Looks good Mike!!
RokHeep 04-11-2002, 07:27 AM Michael,
That thing is looking sick! I can't wait to see it on the trail.
Are you're coilover mounts on the "C" of the front axle? That is similar to what I am going to have to do.

Being a totally custom job nothing goes on schedule. And the fact that Mike has been busy doesn't help. However we have a drop dead delivery date of April 19th. That will give me barely enough time to get maybe 1 test run in (pray that everything is perfect) then work on attempting to be somewhat Utah legal as Utah has denied my Exempt Status Permit and the tow rig is in need of attention. Then pack it up and drive to Moab, at night and hopefully under the man's radar.
The disks you see are Caddy/Eldo's from TSM, however there was some custom spacers built by Bob Roggy to make them work. There was a lot of grinding done and that makes those 15" wheels just barely fit.

It's been 8 months since I've had it on a trail, coupled with the slightly different driving charecteristics it's going to have, I'll be a total newbie on the trail with my skirt on :crybaby:
Yes the coilovers are on the "C"'s.
Thanks!

Doesn't look as though I'll be able to use the trailer. The Chevy is just in need of too much to be driven to Moab. I'm just going to have to risk the tickets and drive the Amigo.

Hey I was gonna post this on you thread about the axles. But I guess I figured you just knew.
I don't think blazers ever CAME as 3/4 ton vehilce (I'm sure of it) Those axles came from some other vehicle. Just and FYI in case you didn't know.:smokin:

Are you using poly bushings for all of the link ends? Whatever Mike Shaffer and Bob Roggy wanted to put in it, is in it. I gave them Carte Blanche and told them just do it right.

I'll be in Moab Sunday (barring any imperial intervention) the 12th @ the Red Stone through Monday or Tuesday the 22nd. Our event 16th-19th will be focused around the Portal RV Park, feel free to swing by. Almost any evening I should be there from end of the trail to 10-11pm. There will be a shit load of Isuzu's but come on by anyway. I'll be doing some prerunning before the 16th and then I'm hoping to do Helldorado's on Monday the 20th.

I believe it has jonny joints and heims.
Toyota_Jim 04-11-2002, 06:07 PM Just a thought, on your links where the brakelines are attached with ziptie, get some stainless pipe clamps and put on, zipties will break off when you scrape on them.....
