: Got bored, so i played with the high lift

I hadnt flexed out the cruiser yet (front ds isnt in, no brakes, no traction bar) so i flexed it a bit with the high lift. The passenger side air shock had no nitrogen in it (cracked), so the whole time it was pivoting off the bump stop. So once it's aird up, the front will flex much better. No bumps in the rear yet, and it will have probably 44's, with a centered offset, so it will flex over the rear fender that i havent made yet.

The little black line is the crack in my air shock. Tab didnt hit it, how it cracked, i dont know.

Those rear springs are gonna hate life with a rig that big and heavy.

looks like the rear is doing all the flexing. i'm sure after some tinkering it'll flex even way better than that.

I'm no expert in air shocks...in fact I have zero experience but it seems that the the fronts are bottomed out preventing additional flex. Perhaps a shock with a longer stroke would allow it to flex more???

Just an observation from someone who really knows nothing (ain't that helpful:D )

wouldnt it be the other way around? a shorter shock would allow more travel?

The reason the front isnt flexing worth shit is do to no nitrogen in the passenger shock (as stated above). Once it is aired up, the flex will be way different, and should be some what purporsional. As of right now, it is just pivoting off of the middle bump stop.

That was my first thought too!

My second thought was that there's got to be something wrong, because my FJ45 can flex THAT much!:p

Also curious on the ETA? Rubithon?

Call me a newb but ETA is? As for rubithon, its possible, but a little close, i dont know if ill have it done by then, ill pick up a mag and check out reg and see. Now that im not in top truck, im taking more time to get this done, more time and less money.

ETA= estimated time of arrival.... like when you planning on being done with it?

the questioner didn't know you made it into Top Truck.

I did not make it into top truck.

Well it's mainly dependent on money. Once randy at Ouverson gets his brakes figured out, i will be ordering those. After that, i need wheels and tires do to the 8 lug conversion, and i an down sizing tires. I thinking cut 44" boggers and some beadlocks, which ever come with the tires (used). Once i buy that stuff, the rest i want to do is extra. Propane, aftermarket shafts, bling interior stuff, etc.

I think i will have it done before rubithon, but i dono if i will have the bugs worked out by then, i will have to see.
