Can you take something off the block on that side and use it to bolt a chain to or anything like that? If that makes any sense.

can you rap a strap around your header tubes or make a bracket to bolt on the block using the header bolts?

At the front and back of the block 2 of the head bolts should be studed. Put the chain over each stud and thread a washer and nut over that. Lift the engine from these two studs. That is how I have pulled several 4.0's and 4.2's.

These studs are on the driver side of the valvecover if you need to ask :flipoff2:

Thanks Matt....I saw those and thought about that. Any idea the size nut and thread I need? Living 25 minutes from the nearest gas station let alone hardware store can really suck :(

I dont remember what size the are. Just pull one out and take it with you. Make sure your chain or whatever fits around the stud and still clears the valve cover. You may just have to take the valve cover off.

What motor is that that you are pulling out of the heep.

I might be looking for a complete running motor for a project soon.

Never mind I don't want that thing if it's the 4.0 with the metal chunks in the oil pan :D

:D

Measure the stud thread or take it with you. Where's your spare nuts and bolts stash? I thought that was a requirement for any Heep :flipoff2:

Assuming that it's at least std and not metric (I don't know Sh*t about Jeeps) go buy 2 of each of the following:

3/8"
7/16"
1/2"

Shouldn't be bigger or smaller than those and it might cost you $2 total...

If you are talking about the stud that sticks up out of the head at the front of the motor on the drivers side corner next to the valve cover, it takes an 11/16" wrench to remove a nut that is threaded on it. Does that tell you what size thread it might be?

Here is what I think you are talking about.

1/2" nut, coarse thread. If you ask me what coarse thread means, I'm gonna smack you when you come by to get the engine stand.

An 11/16" wrench for the nut is for a 7/16" bolt (with a 5/8" head!)

A 1/2" bolt requires a 3/4" wrench;)

This is for normal Nuts and bolts

I recall you saying you dont know much about Jeeps earlier.

Go back to Snout land and talk about what Jeep parts you wish you could BOLT ON to your ride! :flipoff2:

PS: It is a real funky bolt.

"Snout Land" BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That's f'ing funny!!!

Like the Slut says, funky bolt. The nut is actually smaller than one would normally find on a 1/2" bolt. (watch me eat my words tomorrow :D)

I'll go back to my goat when you bring her back Keith. :flipoff2:
