Ok i started to pull the 14B apart today and got all the retaining nuts and washers out. I can see the outer bearings but for some reason cannot pull the hub and drum off of the spindle. Trying to do this to do the brakes on this axle before I plant it in my truck.
so..
1. How does the drum and hub come off of the spindle pnce all the nuts and washers are off of it.
2. Is there any exploded view of the rear brakes? I could not find on in the 14B bible
Thanks again

you probably have to back off the adjusters on the brake shoes. if they are stuck, this is a real PITA. i had to slip the blade of a sawzal in thorough the backing plate and cut them in half to get my drums off.

but the drums seem to rotate freely w/o any drag on them. i didnt think that this would be an issue but then again i havent worked on a FF before

Read his post again. What he's telling you is that the brake shoes have worn
the inside of the drum and that there's a "lip" on the inside edge of the drum.
This will keep you from sliding the drum over the shoes. Ask me how I know. :shaking:

he's right.
I had to take a BFH to mine and pound the crap outta them to knock em off. Totally sucked.
Where a mask. Whole bunch of brake dust goes into the air when you do it.

my 14b had the brakes cooked onto the drums or something, took me a 2 guys 3 hours with a BFH to get them off, but the lip will stop you no doubt and if you use a BFH be prepaird to buy new drums

yeah its $110 for 77 k20 rotos, calipers, brake pads, $210 for drums, hardware, shoes. that was the first mod i did to my 14b when i got it cuz the drums were toast and i didnt have $210
Here is your expolded view

It takes two small screw drives to release the adjuster. One to lift the arm and the other to turn the spiked wheel. left hand thread. turn the little wheel with one screw driver ( click click) know you know it needs to go the other direction. using the second screw driver to hold arm off the little wheel.
I know this is basic stuff, but thought it should be mentioned.
