: Fresh post for scout meet
Brawler 04-11-2002, 10:49 AM Posted a little sompin in the hanger post but want to get all official and stuff with a post of it's own.
Sooooooo..... who's up for a por board scout get together? Thinking hammers or truckheaven. Let's hear some ideas and date preferences. gonna be gettin hot soon so we need to take that into consideration.
JoshC 04-11-2002, 10:59 AM I don't know when I might be able to get down that way. I would like everybody to begin thinking about a POR event though.
I will be going to the clean up this year at the Rubicon. It's always nice to meet other Pirate4x4.com members. Anyone else thinking that far out?
Scout Dude 04-11-2002, 11:22 AM I'll be at the clean up run again for sure...this time, I'll bring my Scout though...
Memorial --> Con fo sho
4th of July --> Either Con or Fordyce
Other than that, I'm open for a few more runs this summer. However, I can't be making long trips this year because most of my vacation time is being used up for my Honeymoon is Tahiti
 :D , so I think that the hammers are out...and I'd rather hit the hammers when it is cooler anyway. Maybe next winter. What about some of the trails around Fresno? That's about 1/2 way or so right?
JoshC 04-11-2002, 11:36 AM I could do weekend trips to the Fresno area. I don't know any of the trails. And the wife and kids would be coming too so a good camp site would be nice!
jdjanda 04-11-2002, 11:41 AM How about an early fall trip down south. There are also places east of Fresno, about 1/2 way for a lot of us.
I'd like to try the Hammers
What do you guys say, Sept ish for a get together?
Scout Dude 04-11-2002, 11:53 AM Well, I'm out from Sept 7th through the 16th
and then Calrocs is 27-29th
That leave me open for the weekend of the 21st or Labor day weekend..but my Brother is planning my "ifawkedupandamgettingmarried, ishouldjustkillmyself now" party for that weekend I'm sure. But we might go wheeling for it...or Deep sea fishing..I Dunno it's up to him.
Mechanos 04-11-2002, 11:56 AM ...but anything west of the Rockies is a MAJOR trip for me. But what am I whining about..... the rig isn't done yet anyway....

Cool, so you'll be at RMIHR then... :D
Don't think I'll be doing any wheeling there this year though. :( I won't have the gooseneck in time. :D
jdjanda 04-11-2002, 12:07 PM How is the weather at the Hammers in Oct?
We need to allow Scout Dude enough time to finish the Scout :flipoff2:
I figure Jun-Aug is going to be hot.
Brawler 04-11-2002, 12:47 PM Man, you guys are incredible. I offer to set up a wheelin trip and everyone says end of year. What about a little hot weather, who fawkin cares if you're drinkin brew? I was thinkin around august. It doesn't have to be the hammers or truckheaven. I'll go just about anywhere that i can drive in a day. I was thinin of a lot of wheelin, drinkin, eaten and fire. Gonna bring my wife and kids too so let's just make it happen. I'm gonna say the weekend of August 9,10, and 11th. Commit to somethin guys. I'll bring enough tri tip for twenty and six cases of brew.
JoshC 04-11-2002, 01:09 PM Brawler,
The Sierra Trek run is that weekend and the only reason I'm not going is because it's my wedding anniversary and my wife would prefer not to spend it in the dirt. Don't think I didn't already run it by her.

jdjanda 04-11-2002, 01:29 PM How about July, hot as hell but what the hell.
Now where are we going to meet; Hammers, Hungry Valley, Con, or any of the trails east of Fresno?
Someone make the call.
JoshC 04-11-2002, 02:17 PM I have to go camping somewhere May 18th and 19th. How about that weekend for the first get together?

Brawler 04-11-2002, 03:08 PM We can do hungry valley but i aint going down that stupid miller trail. It is like driving on a dirt road. I'm 3 hours from the hammers,1 hour from hungry valley, and i don't know how long from the con. I would say the hammers or hungry valley. Going to that high dessert round-up on memorial day weekend. July sounds good. anyone else? Nobody who commits better fag out either.:mad3:

No, that still isn't enough.
I *have* a 1T and a trailer, and I'm still not ready to go that far to break my junk.. yet. :D
Just going to RMIHR and NWBRU and Moab, making them all ONE TRIP runs me over $700 in gas..
Forget food, drinks, a shower now n' then.. or even the oil. :flipoff2:
Joe V 04-11-2002, 03:48 PM JV can be pretty darn warm in Sept, October is not as warm. I don't mind the heat, that's what make a good Night run...The hammers at night...in August...Hmmmmm...now that sounds like FUN!
August or September would be cool for a Dusy/Ershim trip too. I'm planning on driving to rubi in July and talking to a friend about Dusy in Sept.
Gorman is good for motorcycles.
Brawler 04-11-2002, 03:52 PM Don't make this so difficult. We can all run around half dressed at the hammers.

When are you going to be down there Tom?
Cliffy [JD] 04-11-2002, 04:26 PM Hey I MIGHT be able to do MOAB also. ;)

Still not *positive* I'm going to NWBRU.. but if I do, I'd be in Moab around July 23/24th.. I like to leave RMIHR near Denver and drive to Moab, spend the night.. spend a day or two wheelin', then motor on for Seattle...
'cept this year, I think I'm just taking the racer to RMIHR, which isn't really set up for rock-crawling.. though I could put the mufflers on, and borrow the 36s from "Tigger" and have a good time as long as I can keep it cool. :D
Don't know what that would mean for a Moab layover.. if we'd just cruise around in the 2wd crewcab and see a few things, or maybe just spend the night and move on. I just really like the area. :-)
HarleyM 04-11-2002, 06:49 PM If any one wants to send money I"ll go anywhere anytime except Neb. I don't remember any big hills when I went through there:D :D Just kidding
