Now that I got the rear detroit locker to work properly...old tires were 3/8" off dia. and it was unlocking going down the road and made for a nasty bump when shifting as it had to relock back up each time (90 degrees of driveline play)...I had to dial in the brand new rear tires as well as one was 1/8" different from the other...just a few psi more of air pressure in the smaller tire took care of that.

What is recommend for a front diff locker/limited slip to work with the rear detroit locker

1993 Toyota Ext Cab 4x4 4cyl 5sp 4" Trailways lift and front Rancho bars
5.29 gears front and rear, manual locking hubs with new BFG 35 MT Tires.

Thanks,
Ken

bang for the buck e-locker...especially if you have a 4cyl. you get the v-6 housing with a selectable locker for around 300-350 cant beat that deal IMO.

Plus, The guys at ARB are real nice to work with. Several times I have called for little shit and they have just dropped it in the mail for free. Great customer service. No complaints in the 5 years I have used the 2 of them.

Better yet, just weld the damn thing! It's almost free, and ya don't have to worry about it unlocking!

From his description I am going to say that he still has IFS.

E-Locker is not going to work and I wouldn't spend the money on a ARB for an IFS diff. I would say get an aussie/lockright etc. and call it done.

im running aussies front and rear they seem to work great, only downside is turning radius is bad some times when in 4wd with both axles locked.

however for an ifs truck i would only run like a limited slip, the ifs diffs have been known to not be very strong. but thats just my .02

With a IFS up front what about a Detroit Truetrac?

Is a air locker the only thing available for the rear? I want to replace the detroit locker in there right now as there is just to much play in the drivetrain.

A true trac would work but I've heard that they don't recommend them for 35"+ tires!?

Also in the IFS I see no application for an air locker or even an e-locker :(

u can get a elocker for the rear

for the front you can not run a elocker unless you sas it. Not sure if they make a arb for youre ifs but I would go with a lockright or its like for the front.

why not save the money that you were going to dump into an IFS diff locker and put it towards a better performing mod like an SAS? 600+ bucks goes a long way if you do rears up front, junkyard housing, and a used 5.29 diff.

I'm with jasonmt, especially of you're "not that serious". Get a lockrite, it doesn't cost as much and if you're not using it that much or not in extreme stuff, it'll be fine.
