I've got a 1996 F-250 4x4 stroker I've owned since new. I picked up a D60 front out of a 1988 F-350 for $100 :flipoff2: and thinking about installing it under my truck. the leaf springs under my truck a tired and only set about a 1/2" from the bump stops now (the front has that VW beetle stance thingy going on now :shaking: ) So I thought if I'm going to replace the springs, then while I'm at it stuff my D60 under there. It's geared the same as my TTB (4.10's).

This will allow lifting the truck easier for some larger tires to stuff in the fender wells too.

Anything like hidden surprises I need to know about before I attempt this?

Looks pretty straight forward to me, the TTB looks to just unbolt off the truck frame from what I can tell.

Also - who offers quality after market leafs for full size rides?

Thanks

unbolt ttb. change springs (since thats what you want to do) rebolt everything with D60 in place. everything should be the same.

quality aftermarket leaves are made by deaver, national, alcan.

if you can get the stock f350 leaves..throw them in and you can run 35's easily

dont forget the driveshaft and tracbar and bracket

I have some spare superduty leaves lying around that are barely used if you want them I'd sell them cheap.

No go on the driveshaft or tracbar as it was tourched out from under the truck by the JY I got it from. The springs were tired anyway - they were wearing into themselves. I got the top spring plate and the part of the driveshaft on the yolk.

Looks like my driveshaft should work out ok just need to check length.

Depends on the "cheap" that you mean. I'm looking at the Skyjacker lift kit when I get ready to do the SAS.

Looks like you may need to swap steering linkages as well. The ones under my F-350 is different than the ones under my F-250, both 1988.

I'm talking like $75 plus shipping

Careful, the D50 TTB driveshaft is longer than the D60 one, you may crack yer tcase if the driveshaft goes solid on a good bump. I added a 3" lift when I swapped mine out and it is still a little close. The pitman arms between the F250 and F350 are different as well. They will both work, but the F350 is an inch longer.
