Axle question...

I have a 1989 F-150, I6.

My front axle is a Dana 44 right?? There aren't any tags on it, and I can't see any other markings.

Yes, you have the 44IFS.Here is how to ID the front axles. The fullsize axle come in the 44IFS and the 50IFS. The easy way to tell the difference is this: The 50 has the larger hubs as the D60 has and the axle u-joints in the knuckles have larger u-joints with the snapring on the OUTSIDE of the cap. The 44 has the clips on the inside of the cap and the outside of the cap is flush with the axle. Also the 50 only came with 8 lugs on the 3/4 ton and some 1 ton applications.
